Artworks
In Marita Liulia's art the medias have varied widely while her focus has always been on people of her own time. For her, art is communication. This interest led her from theater to interactive art.
She created her first interactive art installations in the 1980's together with light and sound designers Ilkka Volanen and Tarja Ervasti. Jackpot, an interactive game installation about advertisement was exhibited in eleven different venues in 1991 and got 20 000 registered users.
In Maire she combined art, science and technology in the spirit of Alvar Aalto and Maire Gullichsen. Also Maire was originally an interactive installation. When published by Edita in 1994 it became one of the first artworks in cd-rom format.
