RUUSUJEN AJAN PÄÄTTYMINEN (SOSIAALIDEMOKRATIA 1917-2017)
This is my conception of the history of social democracy – which is also the history of the period of Finnish independence. The birth of the roses of democracy was a violent one. It was followed by a long golden age of peace and development, producing one of the most functional and egalitarian democracies in the world. Nowadays those roses seem to have lost their roots. They need to be pruned, fertilised and replanted.
Tämä on minun näkemykseni sosiaalidemokratian historiasta – joka on myös Suomen itsenäisyyden ajan historiaa. Demokratian ruusujen synty oli verinen. Sitten seurasi pitkä rauhan ja kehityksen kultakausi, joka tuotti yhden maailman toimivimmista ja tasa-arvoi- simmista demokratioista. Nykyajassa ruusut näyttävät kadottaneen juurensa. Ne pitää leikata, lannoittaa ja istuttaa uudelleen.
